CO Trip- Day 3

On Sunday David drove us up to the top of Aspen Mountain.  They had a bluegrass band that plays inside on Sundays, board games, games and fun outside (like hula hoops lying around), a playground, and frisbee golf.  We spent the whole day up there playing.  It was a gorgeous day!
The girls are loaded up in David's off roading jeep ready for a really bumpy ride!
David wanted Jeremy and I to try hula hooping together.  While it was hilarious, it didn't work and I'm sure looked a little strange.  We couldn't get in synch.
On the frisbee golf course someone had hung these gorillas from a tree last winter so we hung Maddox up with them.

We took Jessi with us on the vacation.  She absolutely loved it in Colorado!  She is such a mountain, outdoorsy dog!  And in most of CO, especially Aspen, it's very dog friendly.  On the mountain she was off leash all day running around with other dogs and hanging out with us.  In town she was mostly on leash but got treats and water in most of the stores we went in.  I love how dog friendly it is out there.  And I'm pretty sure she does too.  This is where we had our picnic lunch...
The girls then played on the "playground".  It was more like a homemade obstacle course with beams to walk and nets to climb.  I even made Jessi practice her agility on the equipment, walking the beam and such.

If the little girls did it, the big boys had to do it too!
At the end of the wonderful day, one of my favorites the whole vacation, David drove back down the mountain and we rode the gondola.  If you ride up it's $26, but if you just ride down it's free!  This gondola ride was almost 20 minutes long and wonderful scenery.  Maddox, again, loved it.  Jessi though was quite nervous being so high.  The only part of the gondola that wasn't windows was the floor so she could see right out and refused to get up on the seat.
When we got down to Aspen we spent some time walking around town shopping.  The day wore us out!

It was almost dinnertime.  Time to go back to David's and cook for us and Suzy's arriving family!
