Videos

Here's a couple videos of Maddox playing and standing. I've been trying all last week to load them from my house and it wouldn't work. I don't know if it's my computer or the website and now the site is working. It's worked before from my house so I don't know what's going on. It seems to be working at the Bacon's house though. Nothing too exciting, just M being cute! She and I got to spend all last week at home. I didn't work at all. We both loved it! It's strange how you can fill your day playing with a 6 month old. But it's so fun to play with her and watch her little mind work. We didn't do anything too exciting last week. Just worked on napping on her own in her crib and took walks. Now that she's home more and not stimulated by Camden and Morgan so much she's back to 3 short naps a day. Schedule wise that works out great because she can take 2 at home before we pick the kids up at school and one here (if she will).

Today when we came back to work and went to visit Miss Lorraine, Caleb, and Leslie Grace she was a little overwhelmed by all the activity and "strangers".

Teeth!

Maddox had both of her bottom two teeth cut through on Sunday! That might explain her moodiness lately. No other signs (no drooling, fever, diarrhea, etc.), she just never really wanted to eat much the past few days and was fussy when she did and has just been moody for no reason. And most of you know, Maddox is NOT moody for no reason. I think she's excited about her new teeth coming in!

6 months

I cannot believe my tiny baby is six months old! She's just growing and changing everyday! So far she's turning out to be just like her Mom. She loves music and going to concerts, as long as it's one where she doesn't have to sit still too long. Free concerts outdoors or something. She just listens intently and watches very carefully. Whenever music comes on tv she looks right up at it. And almost more than I see her liking music right now I see her loving animals! When she's laying on the floor and Gabby comes up visit Maddox just gets the biggest grin on her face and tries to reach out to pet her. The same thing with Jessi. Although Jessi has finally figured out that Maddox can now grab and pull hair so Jessi tries to avoid getting too close to Maddox. And we figured out the most hilarious thing that she loves is being licked on the hands and face by Easton, the 110 lb. Labrador across the street. While Easton licks her she just laughs and laughs. She loves it! You'd think a 15 lb kid might be intimidated by a dog that big, but not her. Maybe she's still naive. Either way, it's cute. I'm working on getting a video of that but haven't done it yet. And of course she loves the outdoors. She could be content all day sitting, watching, sleeping, eating, anything outdoors. I now tell her Bible Fellowship teachers if she starts getting fussy just take her outside to watch kids play or push her in the stroller outside and it always works. I thought most kids were this way, but she definitely enjoys the outdoors more than others.

To balance things out, I did finally buy her a ball so she at least can start to get some experience before Jeremy starts teaching her all sports. Of course this is what they do in their off time:

She's getting better at sitting up all the time. I'm hoping she'll be willing to do it at her pictures next week. And finally she's willing to put pressure on her legs and stand. While she's sitting up I'll hold her hands and say "up up up" and she'll push her feet down and stand straight up. At first she hated it, too much work. But now she's starting to enjoy it. Again, why do I have no videos of this? Probably because my camera is almost full of pics and videos and it's too hard to post a video from my video camera. I'm going to emtpy my memory stick off tonight so I'll have lots of space. Videos to come . . . .

She has also figured out where her toes are. This morning I went to go get her at 6am (she woke up early today) and brought her to bed to feed her and her pajama feet were all wet. My first thought was, "how did her diaper leak in such a way that her feet got wet?" Of course, she had been laying there sucking on her toes while I continued to sleep a little longer. At breakfast she wouldn't eat cereal and peaches, only toes. I gave up.

She went to the doctor today for her shots. Finally Jeremy got to meet Dr. Erickson. Here's her 6 month stats: 15 lbs 13 oz (50%ile) 27" long (90-95%ile) and 16.5" head (less than 50%ile) So still a bit long but she's getting a little more proportionate. Guess that's all for now!

Babysitting

The other night I watched Grady, the 3 month old across the street. I got a taste of what it would be like to have twins. They both wanted to eat at the same time and go to sleep at the same time. I figured it out. I could do it. Took a few pictures and video of the two of them together. Some floor time . . .Grady falling on top of Maddox while they were both in my lap.Successfully balancing the two while feeding Grady. Maddox was next in line.A couple videos of them checking each other out:

And since when did Maddox start sleeping like this??? I just found her like this one night. She would normally start crying because she's stuck in this position.

And lastly, I tried to take a lemon picture but unfortunately she loved the lemon. The VERY first time we let her lick one a couple weeks ago she made a great face but I didn't have the camera out. And by the second lick she wanted to eat the whole thing. So we tried again last night but again, she enjoyed it and got mad when I wouldn't let her lick anymore. Both big kids are a little sick today . . .we'll see what the weekend brings . . .

New Activities

Here's Maddox sitting on Miss Lorraine's lap. She could sit there all day trying to figure her out and smiling at her. She loves looking at Miss Lorraine. Luckily Lorraine loves holding her just as much. Btw, if you're wondering who Lorraine is, she watches Caleb, Camden's BFF.
Maddox has also started swinging in the swing when we go play at Caleb's house. She enjoys that too. I had to coax smiles out of her though. She just finds it relaxing.
And she's learned a new trick! Sitting up! She's not great at it yet but she's gotten a ton better in just the past couple days! In this one she's doing it all by herself and sitting up so straight! Wow!
Most of the time she's leaning way over her legs like this and not always willing to use her arms. She eventually gets lower and lower until she's laying on her legs or she just falls foward onto the floor and her legs flip out behind her and suddenly she's on her stomach. Oh to be that flexible.

She's still only rolling over back to front. She will not roll back over to her back no matter how mad she gets about it.

She got over her fever and has been healthy the past few days. Today Camden's got the fever though (and I think yesterday) so we'll see if she gets it back. I hope not!
