New car

We bought Jeremy a new car today! I hated that old car, I'm so happy! It had 144,000 miles on it and after the dealer drove it he said "You need a new car! You've driven this thing into the ground." Unfortunately for them they already made us an offer for his car before they drove it and saw it in person. It was WAY beyond what they should have offered. But we were honest in our assesment of it so I have no idea where they came up with that number. Certainly not Kelly blue book.

So the new car is a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with 31,000 miles on it. It's so nice and smooth to drive! I might have to make Jeremy drive my Escape more often so I can drive his. After Camden turns 4 March 1st we get to have his car seats so we'll be able to leave one in Jeremy's car and won't have to transfer all the time. Not that we did tranfer before we got the new car, we just never drove his anywhere. This is the newest car Jeremy's ever had so he's pretty excited too. For a more detailed look you'll just have to come visit.
And I guess since this is actually Maddox's site I should post some pictures of her. This is her usual reaction to her daddy trying to kiss her. Combination of his pokey face and her being a mama's girl.
You can't really tell that there's a dog in this picture since she's the same color almost as the chair. That's Bella, the BAcon's new puppy. Bella's a very cute and smart girl if you discount her jumping the fence daily. Bella loves to lick Maddox and roll around on the floor with her. Maddox loves it right back though as you can tell from her reaction in these photos!

Muscles

Maddox is full of muscles these days. She does it all the time, in the high chair, in her car seat, crawling across the floor I'll hear a grunt and look down and she's showing her muslces, looking at me waiting for a response. So here's some cute videos of her muscles and some waving and just cuteness. Remember, you can't watch them in the email, click on the link and go to her site to see them.

Fl trip part 2

On Tuesday we all went to the condo to spend the day at the beach. (For those of you that don't know my parents moved to FL in October and have a house inland that we all stayed at. For now, they still have the condo too.) The water was pretty cold for Maddox and she did not enjoy that. It'll be fun to go this summer when she's toddling around and the water is warm.

Here she is hanging out with her Aunt Suzy, and Aunt Jennifer checking out some shells. One night Jeremy and I stayed at the house while everyone else went to the condo. I got some pictures of Maddox's newest strange activity, showing her muscles. She only does it while in a high chair. She's silly. After her favorite dinner of spaghetti we went miniature golfing. Jeremy's not paying attention because he's busy adding up the score and double checking it. He can't believe he lost to me by 8 strokes! hehe
Another day the 3 of us went to Calusa Nature Center for a couple of hours. We hiked around looking for wildlife. It's dry season down there so we didn't see much, but it was still nice to hike around and be outdoors. They did have snakes, a skunk, a bobcat, opposums, eagles, vultures and some others in cages to look at. They also had a touch tank and Jeremy actually touched an ocotopus! This is the guy who's afraid of any wild living creature and most domesticated creatures too!
Maddox made it for most of the hike but towards 11:30 she was way beyond her nap time and gave up.Another day we all went to the park to play except Jeremy and Stacy. They sat in the hot tub smoking cigars, drinking beer, and talking sports and politics the whole time we were gone.Maddox had a lot of time to practice walking with her cousin Matthew. On New Year's Eve we had dinner and opened our crackers with the hats in them. Maddox wore hers throughout dinner. She had to go to bed after that and miss all the fun. We had a different activity every hour (crafts, games, swimming, charades) until midnight. I wish I could post the video of all 11 of us (the two littlest were in bed) crammed into the hot tub singing Row Row Row Your Boat in a round but it's on the real video camera which is makes it to difficult to post. The water level in the hot tub was halved when we all got out.We went back to the beach a couple of days later. I wore Maddox in the snugli early in the morning and we took a long walk up to the furthest point of the island to my favorite spot for shelling and wading. She got so tired that she about fell asleep again. Then we played in the sand some more. Her Daddy tried to bury her in the sand. After a long day on the beach Maddox will even cuddle with Matthew. Too cute!Whew! So that was our trip! The drive home was uneventful. We went to Tampa to have dinner with Suzy's family who was flying out from there in the morning so that took 2 hours off our long drive. We left Tampa at about 8:30pm and got home at 6:30am. Maddox slept like a rock the whole way, only nursing once. When we got here Jeremy went straight to bed and I had to stay up and play with the chick who got to sleep all night! She and I have taken it easy and napped a lot. Tomorrow life gets back to normal!

Trip to Florida

So as I said we drove to Fort Myers, FL on Christmas day. We left about 3:20pm and arrived about 3:40 am. Maddox was very good in the car. We stopped about 7:30 for gas and ate dinner there and ran around with her and the dog for about 30 minutes. Then she woke up again around 11:00 for her late feeding and slept the rest of the way. She was awake playing in the car for a total of about 1 hour, maybe, and the rest she slept.

The next night we went to Thomas Edison's house/museum. Again, Maddox wasn't very excited about it because she was still sick, it was past dinner time, and almost bed time. But she made it without getting upset and she got to eat snacks the whole time and dance with Mommy in the parking lot so all was good! I just want to mention that those are my skinny jeans that I haven't worn in about 2 years. Thank you pilates. After 9 days at mom's house they don't fit anymore.
There was this plant with huge, very arid, blooms she had to check out She enjoyed swimming in Grandma and Papa's pool. She liked to sit on the edge and kick her legs. And she liked sitting on my shoulder while I jumped up and down in the water, she laughed a lot at that! And she likes swimming with her doggie Jessi who swam about every day. She'd laugh when Jessi would swim out toward her. It looks like I have no pictures of Jessi's swimming fun, just M's.On Sunday both of my sisters and their families arrived so we had Christmas again. For some unknown reason Maddox had a fever that night so she wasn't very interested in opening presents. Jessi seemed to think we were making her a bed.
Papa enjoyed his new night light Maddox gave him. She wanted to be sure he had enough for all these grandkids that were visiting.
Maddox had to go to bed so she opened her stocking the next morning and played with her bounce and spin pony later in the day.

More of the trip in another blog . . . gotta put baby girl to bed . . .

Christmas at home

We spent Christmas in Winston-Salem this year. Jeremy had to work Christmas Eve until about 5. Who gets an x-ray on Christmas Eve at an imaging facility, I don't know. Apparently no one, as he did one all day. Maddox got sick about 5 days before Christmas and I caught it a couple of days later. It was just a really bad cold, sinus, little bit of cough mess. She was grumpy for quite a while. She didn't get better until half way through our vacation in FL so she was sick for about 12 days and so was I. From reading other people's blogs it sounds like the same thing everyone caught over Christmas break.

After Jeremy got off of work we went to Christmas Eve service. Here she is all dressed up in her cute Christmas dress thanks to someone that J works with who gave us a big bag of 12 month clothes. Such a pretty girl! One of her favorite activities is pulling all the tapes and cd's out of the old entertainment center.
We sort of forgot to take pictures of Christmas morning because we were taking video. So here are a few after the mess got cleaned up and she was checking out her new toys. After presents we spent the rest of the morning packing up for our long drive to Florida. We left on Christmas day about 3:20 pm. It's a twelve hour drive, do the math. Whee!
More after dinner . . .
